The Swiss Accident Investigation Service released Tuesday reports on aviation accidents and serious incidents, including two near misses.
Almost a collision between a Airbus A320-232 White Airways (Portugal) and an Airbus A340-642 Qatar Airways over Schaffhausen took place on 25 October 2010 at 17h43 above Trasadingen (SH), said Tuesday Service Swiss investigation of air accidents (SESA). The incident is described as "serious".
The two aircraft passed within a horizontal distance of 3.1 nautical miles (5.74 km) and vertical of 500 feet (152.4 m). The cause of the collision is almost three aircraft were in the same area, two flying east and the third to the west.
The flight crew of White Airways has made a move to get away from the camera flying in the same direction as him. That's when he approached the aircraft Qatar Airways. The air traffic controller was unable to intervene in time to prevent this maneuver because his microphone was not working. Using another microphone, he was able to avoid the collision.
A similar incident occurred in Italy December 16, 2011. Two commercial planes have crossed a horizontal distance of 0.1 nautical mile (185.3 m) and vertical 500 feet (152.4 m).
